Otters is the 22nd piece in the totem animal project and the 10th in the mammal series. It is a watercolor pencil of a mother river otter watching over her baby. A river and tree-lined shore are behind it. Otters are symbols of Creativity, Curiosity, Family, Motherhood, Nurturing, Playfulness, and Spontaneity.
The original was created in 2018. It is 16" x 20" on 18" x 24" paper and in a 22" x 26" frame. It took approximately 11.25 hours to complete. I used General's Kimberly watercolor pencils on Canson watercolor paper and then painted over it with water. It has a spray varnish finish. It includes a Certificate of Authenticity.
