Cardinal Couple is a larger-than-life watercolor pencil drawing of a male and female cardinal sitting on a tree branch. This piece is the 25th in the Totem Animal Project and the 1st of the Avian Series. Cardinals are symbols of the balance of power, confidence, enthusiasm, knowing yourself, power of song, spiritual connection, sacred self, and wealth.
The original was created in 2019. It is 16" x 20" on 18" x 24" paper and in a 22" x 26" frame. It took approximately 10 hours to complete. I used General's Kimberly and Faber-Castell watercolor pencils, on Canson mix media paper. Then I painted over it with water. It has a spray varnish finish. It includes a Certificate of Authenticity.
